Trekking Mt Fitzroy - two days

After the windiest night in our tent yet, we woke to a fine day and walked out the door and into the National Park of Mt Fitzroy.
We headed up to Laguna Torres where we struggled to stand still due to the incredible strength of the wind.
As usual, the scenery was beautiful - the rivers so clear and swift, glaciers blue-white, and mountains as far as our eyes could see.

After a few hills and corners we struck warm sun and no wind.  There is something about warm sun than beckons you to a soft patch of grass to lie down for an afternoon nap!  An hour later we awoke to people walking by and decided we had better get going.

We arrived at Poincenot campground and set up our tent.  We had time to walk up to the Piedras Blanca Glacier before we cooked dinner and it was well worth it.

We really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere at Fitzroy. We could cook at our tentsite, rather than the strick rules to only cook in shelters at Torres del Paine.

The next morning we walked up to see the sun rise on Mt Fitzroy.  Condors soared above us once again we were moved by the beauty of the Patagonian nature

We walked back out after a hot coffee and porridge at our campsite to then pack our bikes and begin our journey through to Coyhaique on the Caraterra Austral.
